B.M. in Composition

Wells School of Music

The B.M. in Composition offers training to develop creative, intellectual, and musical skills, enabling students to create music for instruments, voices, and electronic media. In addition to their general education curriculum, students in this major will engage a broad variety of subjects related to music theory and aural skills, performance, history, orchestration, composition and technology, will engage in the writing, rehearsing, performance, and recording of their original music, and will be part of a community that includes their fellow students, distinguished faculty members, and visiting artists.
